Rev. Patrick V. Kirsch
Before being named the Founding Pastor of Blessed Oscar Romero Parish in Eastvale, Father Patrick Vincent Kirsch was Pastor of St Margaret Mary in Chino until March 2013. Prior to that time, he was Pastor at St. Peter and St. Paul from 2002 to 2012. He came to that appointment from Saint Junipero Serra and Our Lady of the Snows, having served both parishes as Pastor for nine years. Father previously had served as Parochial Vicar at St. George in Ontario, and St. Adelaide’s in Highland.
Father Pat was ordained in 1981 in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament in Altoona, Pennsylvania. He grew up in Pennsylvania, and his three brothers, their wives, and most of his nephews and nieces still reside there. His mother and father are deceased.
Father attended Gannon University in Erie, Pennsylvania, and completed his theological studies at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary in Emmitsburg, Maryland. He also studied on sabbatical, at the Pontifical North American College in Vatican City, attending the college and living there on two separate occasions.
Father Pat is a Knight of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem. He was honored several years ago by the School Sisters of Notre Dame and by the Carmelite Sisters in Alhambra. Father Kirsch is actively involved in the ACTS Ministry, which is a renewal retreat for parishes and individuals.
